This pistol has manual and grip safeties. There is minor play between the slide and frame. Mechanics: The action functions correctly. Overall, this pistol is in about Good-plus condition. The markings are generally clear, but the Ordnance wheel is incomplete (as is common). The bottom-right bushing’s screw-driver slot is damaged. The bushing and frame threads are still strong. As noted above, the top-left grip screw is seized in its bushing, turning the screw head turns the bushing in the frame. The screw heads are tool marked with serviceable slots. There is an “idiot mark” below the slide stop. There is infrequent minor surface oxidation, most notable on the top-left of the slide forward of the ejection port. There are some scattered light nicks, scuffs and scratches. Other surfaces show scattered more minor wear with finish thinning in some areas. The most notable finish wear is handling wear in the grip areas and two spots of finish wear on the right frame flat above the trigger and trigger guard. Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 75% of its metal finish. There is scattered light erosion in the bore. The bottom-right bushing’s screw-driver slot is damaged.īore Condition: The bore is gray and the rifling is sharp. The checkering is generally well defined. The grips have scattered light wear with infrequent compressed or damaged checkers and tool marks in the reinforcement rings around the screws. Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered brown plastic with reinforcement rings around the screws and reinforcement ribs on the inside.
The rear sight is a square notch dovetailed into the slide. Sights / Optics: The front sight is a short blade with a serrated, ramped rear face fixed to the slide. The right front bow of the trigger guard is marked “3”. The left link-lug of the barrel is marked “P”, the right “HS”. The interior of the dust cover has a flaming bomb Ordnance mark, found again under the firing pin plate on the rear of the slide. ARMY”, and at the rear there is an Ordnance mark.
